PARTICIPATE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL COMMONS
Komunigi was born from the common desire of several Belgian, French and Swiss cooperative supermarkets to create a framework of mutualisation.
With their IT service provider Coop IT Easy, this group of supermarkets wanted to pool their human and financial resources, but also to exchange their IT needs and best practices.
Komunigi aims to structure the inter-cooperation and mutualisation in order to create, invigorate and organise:
- A community of users wishing to use and contribute financially to IT solutions;
- A community of developers wishing to contribute technically to the open source code.
OPEN SOURCE?
Free software (also often called “open source”) is software that respects the freedom of its users and their community. In effect, everyone has the freedom to use, study, share, and improve this software. For the Komunigi project, these freedoms are essential, because they allow stakeholders to come together in a spirit of cooperation.
